Our Favorite Postpartum Support Groups in Metro Detroit
/Postpartum support is not only for the hard days. It’s for all days.
It’s not just for some moms. It is for every mom.
Whether you are feeling confident, tired, joyful, unsure, or somewhere in between, connection in the 4th trimester is important. Postpartum support groups give moms a place to learn, share, ask questions, and build community with others who are in a similar season of life.
You do not need to be struggling to deserve support. Wanting connection is reason enough.
Here are some of our favorite postpartum support groups in Metro Detroit, including one we are especially proud to be part of.
Our postpartum support group at Little Roots Play Cafe in Clarkston was created to feel warm, welcoming, and relaxed. This is a space where moms can show up exactly as they are. There is no pressure to share, no expectation to have it all together, and no comparison. This group is led from a doula-informed perspective and centers connection, conversation, and gentle guidance. This is not a therapy-based group, but is peer led by co-owner of Detroit Dreams Tonight, Lauren Foster.
What moms love about this group:

Postpartum support groups are not about fixing problems. They are about learning together, building confidence, and remembering that you are not alone in early motherhood. Many moms attend simply to connect with other moms, ask questions in a safe and supportive space, feel reassured that their experience is normal, and build community here in Metro Detroit. Support works best when it is proactive, woven into your postpartum care from the beginning, not only something you seek when things feel hard.
If you are in Metro Detroit and looking for postpartum connection, we hope one of these groups feels like a good fit. Detroit Dreams Tonight also offers day and overnight postpartum doula care, sleep support, and holistic recovery guidance for moms who want additional one on one care.
You deserve connection, care, and support in this season.
